JBL lifestyle tune 120tws review: No doubt that True wireless headphones are the future. Big players like Apple, Samsung are spending time and money to make their TWS headphones better. A reliable source of information said that in 2019 more than 78 million TWS units were sold. I think this number is enough to prove how popular TWS headphones are going day by day.
There is no surprise that every headphone manufacturer is doing its best to give better TWS headphones at an affordable price. This competition is like a boon for consumers like us. We are getting better and better by spending less money. But can we really get the great TWS at a cheaper price? This nice TWS headphone by JBL that is JBL Tune 120TWS will cost you less than 100 $ and that is good news. but can we really get the great TWS under 100$? let's review JBL tune 120tws. will it change your lifestyle?
Pros:
Cons:
Sound
Build
Battery
Value
Bottom Line:
I have used some JBL products like JBL speakers, Headphones and now JBL Tune 120TWS. I feel that JBL Tune 120TWS is pretty well in that price range. Great design, Comfort and perfect fit, multiple color options are pros but average battery is the biggest cons that may disappoint you. If you are a person who doesn't use headphones 24X7 these are quite ok.
4.2 Bluetooth version is enough for daily use but if someone wants advanced Bluetooth technology then these are not for them. Bass is good and vocals are clear but you will not get that sound quality which you can get with expensive JBL audio devices.
Another thing that I don't like is that it doesn't have an IPX rating. Gym lovers will definitely thumbs down for not having IPX rating for JBL Tune 120TWS. Let's come to the price of Tune 120TWS. As I said they don't deserve 100$ but I can clearly see that they are available at 50 $ on Amazon and that's an amazing deal. I was not that lucky to get the Tune 120TWS at such a great price. But if you are planning to get them for 100$ Then I think you must try other options.
How is the Design and Build Quality of Tune 120TWS?
You get the lines on the package "Pure Bass zero cables''. It gives you the idea that you are going to enjoy solid bass. In the box, you will get the earbuds that are separately kept from the case, 3 sizes of buds small, medium, and large, a Micro USB cable. The charging case looks good and solid that seems to be constructed with quality material.
Along with the elegant look it gives you multiple color choices with having Black, Blue, Green, Pink, white and yellow colors that actually look cool. I personally prefer Blue because that's my favorite color. .JBL Tune 120TWS buds and case both are a little bit larger in size. When you take them in hand it actually feels bigger.
Buds are bigger in size that blocks the outside noise to a greater extent. At the bottom of the charging case, you will get the charging port covering with a flap. As per many users, this flap is not durable and breaks after a few months of use but yet I didn't find that true. Buttons are provided to control the volume and to perform other functions.
When you put them in a case it won't move out because they have a magnet inside the case. As soon as you put them in charging starts LED lights are there on the case so you can get the charging status easily. I think Build and design is quite well but one thing that disappointed me is that it doesn't have an IPX rating.
How is the Sound Performance of Tune 120TWS?
JBL Tune 120 has 5.8 mm drivers that are not extraordinarily big but enough for powerful bass. Driver sensitivity at 1kHz/1mW is 96 dB. is that good? let's see. But first, let me write a few lines about what is headphone's sensitivity?. It is nothing but a sound pressure level. in simpler terms more the sensitivity louder the sound you will get.
They said zero cables pure bass and it's actually true. With the 20Hz β 20kHz Dynamic frequency response range (Hz) it delivers powerful but deep bass that you can actually feel. Vocals are clear and crisp. Right side bud is the main bud that connects with your device. Control buttons are divided into 2 parts, buttons on right bud and buttons on the left bud.
With the left you can forward and backward the music while with the right bud you can play/pause the music and pick up phone calls. Holding a right bud's button for 2 seconds will allow you to mute or unmute calls. What if you ask me if this TWS headphones deserves 100$? I will say no it does not. At the end I must say that it's not with the perfect sound but does not completely disappoint you.
How is Connectivity of Tune 120TWS?
I must tell you that it's not the most advanced bluetooth technology that is 5.0. It's 4.2 Bluetooth version that is quite enough for your daily routine. Take out the right earbud from the case to connect your Tune 120TWS with your device then choose JBL Tune 120TWS in your phone and that's it. It automatically enters into pairing mode as soon as you take them out. so left and right bud pairs automatically.
How is the Charging and Battery performance of Tune 120TWS?
A thing that may disappoint you the most is it's battery performance. Though it's an issue of most of the TWS models, still improvement is expected in the battery performance of Tune 120TWS. It has a Lithium-ion Battery that gives 4 hours of Playtime in a single charge.
Tune 120TWS takes 2 Hrs if the battery is completely dead. Though you can extend it up to 16 Hrs with the charging case still it's not satisfactory. Though something is relief that it gives you a quick charging option which gives 1 Hour of playtime with the 15 minutes of charging.
