Bottom Line:
With only the difference in design, JLab Go Air Sport is almost equal to the JLab Go Air Pop. Decent battery life, comfort, and fit allow you to use the buds for long listening sessions.
Ear Hook design takes care that your buds won't fall on the ground. Good low-end (Bass), natural Mids highs are not that impressive but bearable to the ears. What I dislike the most is its call quality.
The sound quality is surely better than JLab Go Air Pop but the call quality isn't good. It's specially made as sports earbuds so don't expect to work well in all areas. It is one of the best true wireless earbuds for Gyming, and running but not good for calling.
How is the Design and Build Quality of JLab Go Air Sport?
Ear hooks have their advantage. Your buds may lose and fall on the ground but if they have ear hooks, they won't fall on the ground and you don't lose them parmanately.
As the name suggests, Go Air Sport is dedicated to sports and workouts. The design indicates that it's workout-friendly audio gear. IP55 sweat resistance builds three different size ear tips and ear hooks.
This setup is more than enough for jogging, workout, or any vigorous activity. Just make sure you choose the right ear tips size. my ears are small so I took a small ear tip. Thanks to the touch controls they have.
They are easy to operate. JLab Go Air Sport and Go Air Pop are packed with dual connect features. which means you can use both buds or a single bud for calling. But what when you want to listen to a music with single bud? because the volume up button is on the right while the volume down is on the left.
Play/pause is on the right while going for the previous track needs a left earbud. this isn't a big deal though I noticed. You can sort out this with JLab mobile app. charging case is the same as Go Air Pop.
it's almost similar to the Go Air Pop except for the Ear hook design. the same 6 mm driver. the same type of charging case with an in-built charging cable. Though the charging case of Go Air Sport isn't as portable as Go Air Pop. Go Air Pop charging case was super small.
Overall, It's a comfortable pair of earbuds. No issue when trying with glasses. Compare to Go Air Pop these are more comfortable.
How is the Sound Performance of JLab Go Air Sport?
Reviewing sound quality is a bit different thing. Your listening preferences decide what sounds good or bad to you. JLAB Go Air Sport has a 6 mm dynamic driver and a sound frequency range of 20 Hz to 20 KHz.
Unlike Go Air Pop, it sounds different according to EQ preset. You need the right size ear tips to get the best fit. Best fit gives you the best listening experience. JLab Go Air Sport has a punchy and deep bass.
That means they are truly workout audio gear. Mids are natural and vocals are clear. Sub-Bass is also good. Ignoring a minor distortion everything is decent and enjoyable. Go Air Sport sounds far better comparing its price.
There isn't much to say about call quality. If you are thinking to buy a pair of audio gear for calling these aren't for you. They do the basic job but call quality isn't impressive. it's better to use some other option if you are just buying these for calling. 6 out of 10 for call quality.
How is the Connectivity of JLab Go Air Sport?
let's compare Go air Sport with Go Air pop in this department. It's the same 5.1 Bluetooth Connectivity, 30 Feet Bluetooth range, and SBC Bluetooth codec support only. But I found that Go Air sports are disconnecting sometimes.
I found not the same issue with Go Air Pop. Pairing the Go Air Sport is effortless. Just take the buds out of the charging case and blue and white blinking light on the earbuds will tell you that your device is ready to pair.
You can connect only one device at a time. You can disconnect the buds from your phone by holding the buttons of both buds for a few seconds or simply put them in a charging case and it will turn off automatically.
Overall, it works well in Connectivity department.
How is the Charging and Battery performance of JLab Go Air Sport?
I have no complaint about the battery life of JLab Go Air Sport. It's better than many premium earbuds. Each earbud gives 8+ battery life on paper. Practically it's near to that. It gives 6.5-7 Hrs battery life with 60% volume.
If you have proper sealing to the ear canals, you don't need to listen to the music at a higher volume which saves battery. No ANC mode is another reason they have such great battery life.
When I tested the battery life with calling, it could last up to 6 Hrs and 30 minutes. I could get more than 32 Hours of battery life With the charging case. Charging case has attached charging cable, which is very short, like the Go Air pop charging cable.
When charging is on LED light blinks in faint Blue. When the charging is 100% faint blue turns into solid Blue light. Fortunately, it has a voice prompt feature tells you how much battery is left.
On paper, it has a fast charging feature that gives 1 hrs of playtime with 15 minutes charge. Actually, it didn't last for 1 hour. It could go up to 45-50 minutes which isn't bad. If you ask me to rate the battery and charging, I would say 8 out of 10.
