Bottom Line:
JLab makes a product for everyone. If you are a workout lover They have Go Air Sport, If you are a commuter and looking for compact TWS earbuds and a charging case that fits in your pocket well, you have Go Air Pop.
If you want portable as well as stylish earbuds which blend with your skin tone and don't want to spend more than $25, You can go with JLab Go Air Tones. It has everything.
Decent sound, vibrant color options, IPX4 build, 8+ hours battery life with each bud. Charging case with attached charging cable. What do you need more? I am not happy about just a thing.
Controls aren't convenient. You need to use both buds to control all the features. Though you can attend phone calls with a single bud listening to music and controlling the volume level needs both buds. But that's not a big issue.
If you ask me to rate the JLab Go Air Tones I would give them 8 out of 10. The ice on the cake is that it comes with a 2-years warranty. I would love to recommend JLab Go Air Tones.
How is the Design and Build Quality of JLab Go Air Tones?
The main feature of JLab Go Air Tones is their colors. Makers want to make buds that perfectly match the skin color of humans. The remaining design is almost like go air pop.
Go Air Tones are also IPX4-rated TWS earbuds. Charging case with In-built charging cable, Package includes Extra sets of ear tips. It has a small 6 mm driver that suits it's overall size. These are pocket-friendly buds.
That means perfectly fine to go with them anywhere. It has two best things. Its size and color. Once you choose the right color matching your skin tone and wear them in ear canals, they blend so perfectly with you.
I mean, look at the size of Go Air Tones. They are so small and lightweight. This is the third TWS model from JLab and I found something unique in every bud. As I said about JLab Go Air Sport they are perfect workout buds with their ear hooks and punchy bass, Compact size of Go Pop makes them perfect pocket-friendly buds and now these thrid tws pair Go Air Tones which mix flawlessly with your skin. Well done JLabs!
How is the Sound Performance of JLab Go Air Tones?
Sound quality is a matter which is very much dependent on personal preferences. First, I wanted to check Go Air Tones for the workout, but the bass wasn't so punchy to pump me up to go harder.
Then I tried them at home with various music genres and noticed a few points. JLab Go Air Tones have balanced mids with decent bass. They aren't loud for me. Maybe you feel them loud. Many times I tried them on crowded street.
They were unable to block the noises which was fine at that moment. These aren't loud. If you love loudness, JLab Go Air Tones may disappoint you but if you love natural sound with balanced Mids these can be a great option for under $25.
Call quality: Let's talk about call quality. Again, when you try them at home where you don't have noise it works well but I don't suggest getting these for phone calls. Call quality isn't bad but not good either.
When I tested the call quality, the person opposite me said he could hear my voice but not openly. Some kind of muddiness he observed attaining my call. Overall, they do the basic work but do not excellent call quality they can offer.
that's what I think. It's unfair to expect all the qualities for under $25. If you wanted to buy TWS for calling only, you have some better options like Creative Outlier Air V3 or Panasonic RZ-S300W
How is the Connectivity of JLab Go Air Tones?
Pairing earbuds is effortless. Take the buds out of the case, One earbud blinks blue means "I am ready to pair with your phone" Very basic level of connectivity features you can get with Go Air Tones. 5.1 Bluetooth holds the connection firmly.
You can stay connected up to 30 feet. I experienced I could stay connected up to 35 feet. I kept my phone in another room and take my buds to another room and it was still working fine.
Go Air Tones only supports low-complexity sub band codec (SBC). SBC needs low processing power that keeps the battery longer but you have to compromise with the audio quality. It's quite fine with the earbuds under $25.
How is the Charging and Battery performance of JLab Go Air Tones?
Battery life is a reason to recommend Go Air Tones for people searching for an affordable pair of TWS earbuds.
Having a decent battery life is no surprise because neither it has active noise cancellation nor environmental noise cancellation nor has powerful bass or complex Bluetooth codec which may require more processing power.
It has decent 9+ hours of battery life which can extend up to 32+ hours with a charging case. Earbuds automatically turn off when you keep them in the case and charging starts.
The LED light on the case indicates solid red light when more than 25% charging is left in the case. frequent blinking red means you need to charge the case. When the case is fully charged you will see a Solid Blue light. overall satisfied with the battery life of Go Air Tones.
