"Old is gold" you might have used this phrase many times. Sony MDRZX110 BLK ZX Series Stereo Headphones is an example of this phrase. The Sony MDR ZX 110 is a value-for-the-money product.
I reviewed the In-ear and over-ear headphones Sony. Sony MDRZX110 is the cheapest Sony headphones I reviewed. Let's go for the Sony MDR ZX110 headphones review.
In January 2017, Sony launched MDRZX110 BLK ZX Over-ear headphones with two options. With the mic and without the mic. These pairs are very much loved by the people, mainly because of their couple qualities.
The first and most important quality is sound quality and low price. I am so happy to have these fantastic pairs.
Sony MDR ZX110 is cheaper. I ordered two headphones. One for me and another for my father, who loves music so much. I don't say MDR ZX110 is perfect, but I have many reasons to buy them. So Let's dive deeper and take the Sony MDR ZX110 headphones review in detail.
Update: I wrote this review 2 years ago when I purchased Sony MDR-ZX110 white model. After using them for two years, these are my findings.
- Sony MDR-ZX110 are wired headphones that have good quality thick wire still doing good.
- Crystal clear audio with rich Bass.
- Earpads aren't replaceable. Old earpads are faded and look dull over time. They are attracting dust and dirt, which is difficult to clean.
But, my overall experience after using Sony MDR-ZX110 for two years is good. I am satisfied with their performance of them. I still recommend buying them for powerful bass at and cheaper price.

Cons:

Build
Comfort
Value
Bottom Line:
My opinion about Sony MDR ZX110 is they are the best budget headphones of Sony with top-class sound. Clear vocals, great bass, and balanced sound with low sound distortion.
The treble could be sharper, but it's ok. 30 mm neodymium dynamic drivers give clear and precise audio, and an inline remote with a mic give decent call quality. Closed-Back Design also helps to improve sound performance.
The swivel design of headphones made them easy to pack and carry. Sony MDRZX110 is entirely plastic with a thick 3.94 ft long wire that seems durable, but the earpads have a little padding that affects the comfort.
No padding at the top and less padding at the ear cushions made them less comfortable. Considering the price, this is quite obvious. If you are looking for on-ear headphones below $30 Sony MDRZX110 can be the best
choice.
How is the Design and Build Quality of MDR ZX110?
Without considering a few points we can not say that we review the design. Let's take it one by one.
Build:
Sony MDR ZX110 is entirely plastic. That's why they are so light. MDRZ X110 weighs just 4.23 oz. I didn't feel that I wore them, but after 2-2.5 hours, I felt a little bit of discomfort.
Sliders and hinges are plastic made that produces a creaking noise. So you need to use them carefully otherwise they may break. One thing I like about the build of MDRZX110 is the high-quality 3.5 mm wire that seems thick and durable.
It's a 3.5 mm audio jack that is angular. I have rarely seen such a durable wire in any budget headphones. Another Good Thing about these budget over-ear headphones of Sony is they are foldable. Foldable headphones are easy to carry and take up less space.
Sony MDRZX110 has a 30 mm driver, and the ear cup design blocks the outside noise well.
Comfort:
MDRZX110 on-ear is a budget headphones, so Sony tried to reduce the manufacturing cost of these headphones. This cost-cutting affects comfort. The padding on the earcups is not so thick.
It is uncomfortable to wear them continuously for many hours. After 2 hours of continuous use, I took a break for some time and wore them again. Same with the headband padding.
On the headband, you will not get the padding at all. Sony MDR ZX110 is lightweight, so wearing them is not a punishment, but less padding for ears and no padding for the head made the Sony MDR ZX110 not so comfortable for long listening sessions, but 2 hours of continuous use is quite ok.
With the plastic body, they are light in weight, but it doesn't mean they look cheap. White headphones look good.
How is the Sound Performance of Sony MDR ZX110?
Sony purely focuses on sound quality, and they have proved it. No matter if you are picking their best noise-canceling headphone, like WH-1000 XM4, which costs more than $300 or MDR ZX110 Series, which costs less than $30, Sony never compromise the sound quality.
Sony MDRZX110 ZX Series On-ear headphones have used 1.38 inches neodymium dynamic drivers, which produce crystal clear vocals. The mids and lows are also good. The Bass is slightly boosted but does not feel artificial.
Highs and Treble notes could have been slightly sharper, but it's ok. It's too hard to get such decent audio quality at this price. Perhaps it's the best budget headphone of Sony, and at the same price, I think no other can compete with them.
It also comes with an Inline remote and mic for hands-free calls. But let me tell you, these headphones with the mic has the name MDR ZX110 AP. You can smoothly switch between calls and music without taking them off.
If you ask me how much would you rate its sound performance, I will say 9 out of 10. Just because of less sharp treble, they lost the point. If you are looking for good quality cheaper on-ear headphones, nothing is better than Sony MDRZX110 On-ear headphones.
What is mdr in MDR Sony headphones?
MDR series is a very popular series of Sony and the reason is they are inexpensive with having a great sound quality. MDR means Micro Dynamic Receiver. That means Sony is using little dynamic drivers for the MDR series headphones.
