IPX5 rated build can survive sweat and rain. the most unique selling point is its massive battery life. with the charging case, it gives 100 hrs of playback time and fast charging features give 90 minutes of playtime with 10 minutes of charging. No wireless charging is slightly disappointing but other features and pros overpower this con. Overall, I am happy with the Soundcore life dot 2 true wireless earbuds.
How is the Design and Build Quality of soundcore life dot 2 ?
When I saw Anker Life dot 2 for the first time, it reminded me of Jabra elite active 75t. Though the design isn't exactly similar, it looks like Jabra active 75t. Anker life dot 2 is light and comfortable to wear.
It's 8mm driver perfectly fits into your ear canals when you combine the right size of Airwings and ear tips. It's good to see that Anker took care of the comfort and fit of users by giving extra pairs of Airwings and ear tips.
The package comes with 3 pairs of Airwings and 5 pairs of ear tips of different sizes. You can get optimum noise isolation with them.
Anker Life dot 2 is IPX5 rated. It means they can stand with sweat and rain. Just don't sink them in the water. I must not forget to tell that though Anker Soundcore life dot 2 is IPX5 rated, the Charging case isn't waterproof.
So, always make sure your life dot 2 is dry before keeping them in a charging case. Wearing them is quite easy. Choose the right ear tips and air wings combination that fits you. Insert them into the ear canal and turn it to get a secure fit. You can operate them with left and right earbuds.
- To play or pause the music, press left or right bud once.
- To play the next track, press and hold the right bud for a second
- For the previous track press, and hold the left bud for a second.
- You can't adjust the volume with the buds. You have to do it with your source or, say mobile.
- With the one touch of left or right earbud, you can receive or end the call, as well as hold the ongoing call and answer the incoming call is also possible with a single tap.
I don't understand why they didn't give the option to control the volume with the earbuds. It's frustrating to use the mobile every time to lower or raise the volume which is a con I would say.
Anker life dot is packed with a voice assistant too. Press the left or right earbuds twice and you can enjoy the voice assistant. It's very easy to reset the buds. Just press and hold both earbuds for a few seconds.
When LED indicators on the charging case will flash thrice, that means you reset the Anker life dot 2 successfully. Overall, I liked the design and build of Anker life dot 2 except that not having the volume control on the earbuds.
How is the Sound Performance of Soundcore Life Dot 2?
Soundcore life dot 2 sounds decent. Considering the price, I would say it's well-balanced with immersive bass. Soundcore life dot 2 is packed with an 8 mm dynamic driver, which may not produce more loudness but It is loud enough to give energetic treble. The most important thing is loudness doesn't distort the music. The vocals are clear. I would give 8 out of 10 for the sound performance.
How is the Connectivity of Soundcore Life dot 2?
Connecting Soundcore Life dot 2 with your phone is so easy. Just turn on your phone's Bluetooth and touch the name life dot 2 on your phone. You will see the white LED light on the earbud. Which means your earbuds are connected to your phone.
Every time you turn on your life dot 2 earphones, they will automatically connect to the last connected device. It has a 5.0 Bluetooth version. Though it feels older on paper, they do the job fine. I haven't faced any issues while connecting.
They claimed that it has a range of up to 33 feet. Unfortunately, you don't get multi-device support with Anker Life dot 2
How is the Charging and Battery performance of Soundcore Life dot 2?
Battery performance is the strongest pro of Soundcore life dot 2. With the charging case, you get massive 100 Hrs of playtime. Even without a charging case, it gives 8 hours of playtime.
But it's when you play them on 50% of the volume. Otherwise, it gives 5-6 hrs of playtime which is decent I think. You don't get a wireless charging option. If you want wireless charging I would suggest Tozo NC2 hybrid noise-cancelling earbuds that also cost less than $50.
It has a fast charging feature which gives 1.5Hrs of playtime with just 10 minutes of charging. It doesn't have a nice display like Tagry X08 which shows the charging status of the charging case and the status of the earbuds.
You don't know how much power is left inside the case. Light on the case lights only if your charging case's battery is going to die. I mean the light turns into red when charging remains less than 10%.
