After reviewing hundreds of audio gear, including headphones, true wireless earbuds, and speakers, I realized that no audio gear is perfect. Especially when you go for the budget segment, you have to compromise either for build quality, battery life, or audio quality.
Earbuds like Soundcore a3i, Tozo NC9 or take any affordable earbuds that cost below $50, most of the time compromise the build quality. That doesn't mean they break easily or they aren't IPX-rated buds. It simply means they don't look premium.
But an important question is, why do you purchase any audio gear or earbuds? A common person will say they want audio gear to enjoy the music and to do their routine job like calling or workout. And believe me, all cheaper earbuds that I mentioned perform their job really well.
Today, we are going to review another pair of earbuds that has an excellent battery life and a pleasant sound and they are comfortable to use for long listening sessions but they have an average build quality. They look aesthetically pleasant and compact enough to pick in the pocket. In a short introduction, it's not a good idea to make your final decision. So, let's go for SoundPEATS sonic true wireless earbuds review.

Who should get Soundpeats sonic?
- workout lovers due to punchy bass
- for gamers due to very low latency
- For casual listeners who are seeking decent wireless earbuds for under $50
Bottom Line:
I tested many true wireless earbuds for under $50. In this price segment, you can't expect much. The same is true about Soundpeats Sonic's true wireless earbuds. But, considering all the aspects, they are way better than their competition.
The first pro is solid battery life. You get more than 12 hours of playtime which is rare at this price. You get a strong and stable Bluetooth connection with high-quality Codecs like aptX and aptX adaptive which results in high-quality audio.
Soundpeats Sonic is IPX5 rated buds which means no problem handling sweat and rain. Talking about sound, Bass is punchy and powerful. The treble is decent but the mids aren't balanced enough.
Soundstage and imaging can compete with many higher-priced earbuds. I observed a pretty impressive soundstage. These earbuds are great if you are a game lover.
Because of the very low latency, you can enjoy gaming as well as watching videos. For calling purposes, Soundpeats Sonic earbuds are well but not great. You can have a decent call quality but when you are at a crowded place, things might get painful.
I would recommend Soundpeats Sonic true wireless earbuds for you. if you are a gamer, you work out daily, and a bass lover who is searching for a TWS for $50. They aren't for audiophiles, because it lacks dedicated app and EQ settings. If you like wireless charging just sorry for that but these aren't for you.
How is the Design and Build Quality of Soundpeats sonic?
Design of Soundpeats Sonic true wireless earbuds is a decent combination of convenience and aesthetics. Gold rose with the combination of silver color looks good. You can see the logo of Soundpeats on the earbuds that blink with light which looks cool. But the good thing is they don't blink when you play the music or call. The light blinks only when you turn them on or when they pair with your device.
Soundpeats Sonic designed such that they can block the noise well. Though they aren't as effective as active noise cancelling but, do the job quite well. You get three pair of ear tips in different sizes. Choosing the right ear tips provides a good fit & seal against the noise.
I tried and tested them and they didn't fall out from my ears while working out. SoundPeats Sonic is IPX5-rated true wireless earbuds that aren't waterproof but can handle rain and sweat without any issue. Just don't think them to merge in water. They are water-resistant, not waterproof.
Buttons of bud need to press a little bit hard, which sometimes may cause ear fatigue. Having buttons instead of a touch panel has advantages but, they take a little effort to press.
The build is completely plastic. The same is true for the charging case. The charging case is also compact and lightweight. Soundpeats Sonic doesn't have wireless charging. So the package comes with a USB-C charging cable. On the back side of the charging case, USB C port is ready to recharge the case.
SoundPeats Sonic charging case has a closed design. It means the buds are safe under the lid. Even if the case fall on the ground, buds won't come out of the case. Inside the case, I found a LED light that shows the charging status.
In short, I would say SoundPeats Sonic has a great design cool appearance and average build. Makers of SoundPeats Sonic true wireless earbuds compromise in the build quality but all other factors like comfort, fit, and appearance are the positive factors made me happy. Overall I would rate them 8 out of 10 for the design and build.

How is the Sound Performance of Soundpeats sonic?
SoundPeats Sonic True wireless earbuds are more suitable for casual listeners. Of course, you can't expect to have audiophile-grade earbuds for $50. But that doesn't mean its average. SoundPeats Sonic has punchy Bass. Though Sub bass feels slightly boosted. For the Bass-lovers SoundPeats sonic is a great earbuds. But for those who dislike too much bass, they aren't for them.
It has a decent instrument separation. Mids aren't balanced enough. The soundstage of SoundPeats Sonic is surprisingly well considering the price, it's better than many premium earbuds.
Trebles feel good when you listen to that kind of genre. Soundstage and imaging help enhance the gaming experience. It doesn't have EQ settings or a dedicated app which is a slight disappointment. If you prefer a dedicated app and adjusting EQ Anker Soundcore A3i is a good alternative in a $50 price segment.
When I considered all parameters like Bass, treble, mids, sound and imaging, I found that they are near to the audiophile audio gear but, boosted sub bass and not so balanced mids cut the marks. Overall, I would give 7.5 out of 10 for the sound performance of SoundPeats Sonic.
How is the Connectivity of Soundpeats sonic?
After battery life, connectivity is the area where the SoundPEATS Sonic true wireless earbuds shine the most. It has Bluetooth 5.2 with the LC3 audio codec. LC3 means low complexity communications codec. It improves the audio quality because LC3 provides wide range of usable bitrates. To know more about LC3 you can go through this informative article.
SoundPEATS Sonic has another useful feature that improves connectivity and audio quality. It has Qualcomm QCC3040 chipset. These chipsets are specially designed for mid and entry-level true wireless earbuds like soundPEATS Sonic.
Mirroring is another feature you can see in Soundpeats Sonic. Suppose you are listening to a song or calling with the right earbud and for some reason, you have to turn off the right bud. As soon as you turn the right bud, this activity of calling or listening to music shifts to the left earbud. That means your activity won't interrupt because of any reason.
It also supports SBC, aptX, and aptX adaptive codecs. I have rarely seen true wireless earbuds under $50 that support these high-level codecs. The only downside is the lack of AAC support. IPhone users may feel slightly disappointed but it's not a big deal for others. You don't get multideive connect feature in Soundpeats Sonic. I think, I shouldn't expect this feature at this price.
Soundpeats Sonic has very low latency which is surprising for me. Latency even reduces with activating gaming mode. So, we can say that soundpeats Sonic is a feast for gamers and for those who love to watch YouTube videos and movies. For the connectivity, I would rate soundpeats sonic true wireless earbuds 9.5 out of 10.
You can follow the instructions given in the video. How to pair them correctly, and how to use them.
How is the Charging and Battery performance of Soundpeats sonic?
Battery life is the strongest department of SoundPeats Sonic true wireless earbuds. I have seen very few earbuds in this price range that gives such a solid battery life. Though makers claimed 15 hours of battery playtime in a single charge, I found they can stay alive for up to 12.5 hours with 70-80% of total volume.
With the charging case, it gives total of 45 hours of playtime which is superb in this price segment. Even many premium earbuds can't give such a great performance.
Unfortunately you don't get wireless charging with SoundPeats Sonic true wireless earbuds. It means you need the C type charging cable to charge your case and buds.
It takes 90 minutes to fully charge the bud. Near the Charging port, you will see a LED indicator. It will stay on when the charging of a case is on. After fully charging the case it turns off automatically so that you can understand that charging has completed.
Instead of three LED indicators for the charging status, It has a single LED indicator that shows different colors according to the charging status. For example
100-50% charging | Green Light |
---|---|
49-10% charging | Yellow Light |
Below 10% | Red Light |
Let's see what colors will light up to indicate the charging status of the charging case.
Below 20% charging | Indicator Flashes in red |
---|---|
20-69% | Indicator flashes Yellow |
70-99% | Indicator flashes in Green |
Fully charged | Indicator stays Green |
If you are a commuter or travel frequently, SoundPeats Sonic is a great choice due to its fantastic battery life. With the massive 45 hours you will never go out of power. I would give 9 out of 10 for the battery life of SoundPeats Sonic true wireless earbuds.
